Sommelier News
Here you can find independent news published on our fortnightly Sommelier's Newsletter.
In 1890 John Riddoch founded Coonawarra, the history of which is inextricably entwined with the Riddoch and Rymill families. His grandson, John Riddoch Rymill, was a distinguished polar explorer, whose son Peter and his wife Judy, both farmers and keen equestrians, established the Rymill Coonawarra Winery in 1990. Still family owned to this day, Rymill wines are distributed in the UK by Pol Roger Portfolio and we recommend to you the perfect barbeque wine: The Bees Knees.
Made originally only for in-house enjoyment, this popular, full-bodied red fizz, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, is an Australian specialty. With ripe flavours of raspberries, blackberries and a sexy hint of aniseed, The Bee’s Knees is the perfect party starter. www.polroger.co.uk
